Condolence & Memory Journal

I had the pleasure and privilege of serving as a Teacher Assistant to Bryan at Selma Elementary School years ago. When I saw his name and picture listed in the media, I lost my breath and it broke my heart! When Bryan was in my class, I was a young mother of children his age. And I really enjoyed children and everything about them. I remember Bryan being the most adorable little boy! He had beautiful dark eyes and dark shiny hair. He was a very sweet and kind child. He was courteous and polite to his teachers and his classmates. He had a genuinely happy and animated personality and enjoyed his school days. He was intelligent and seemed to grasp his lessons and the skills being taught easily and was enthusiastic to learn. I taught him in his very early elementary years and I did not have contact with him after that but I have an idea that he continued to grow in the same ways as he was when he was a child. I wish I could have known the young man he had become. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and I pray that they feel drawn to God and comforted at this difficult time.

Bryan was such a bright light. He brought humor, enthusiasm and goodness with him each day. He stands out in my memory of students over the years.
I am so deeply saddened by his passing. Prayers and strength to his family.
